Friday 19th March 2021 - ECB Updated Statement

"The ECB have been working closely with both the UK government and the Welsh government to provide clarity in what the easing of lockdown restrictions mean for recreational cricket across England and Wales. We know that our communities, players and volunteers will have missed the social, physical and health benefits of participating in our great game and we believe we have an important role to play in supporting the nations recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Importantly, we also know that we have a collective responsibility to ensure the safety of our communities by ensuring compliance with both the latest government guidance. The aim of the accompanying documents is to share with you the information we currently know about what the return to cricket at the end of March will look like, in order to help your planning. This is based on our ongoing conversations with the government and key partners to date and information published on gov.uk"

Following the government's announcement this week regarding Indoor sport,  we are unable to open our doors until 12th April for hire and centre bookings  inline with the COVID-19 safety guidelines.

The positive news though is the centre will
remain open until 30th April, so you are able to reschedule your hire/booking during that time - please just email us back with your request and we will do our best to accommodate.

With the indication that we can open for use indoor for U18 from the 12th, and for adults would be only individual 121 sessions or families from the same household.

Step 1 and 2 of the Government gateway is situated to the right, where you can see the indications of lifted restrictions and their potential dates.

It is with regret we have been forced to close our doors with immediate effect due the latest lockdown announced last night from No10 inline with the Covid-19 safety guidelines announced on the 4th January 8pm.

We are awaiting further guidance/ confirmation from the government and ECB on what (if any) cricket will be allowed and when. We will of course keep you updated with these changes as and when we know more.

Once again thank you for your loyal custom and support since opening - this has been and continues to be a roller coaster of an adventure for us and we want to be able to continue offering this service to you as players in the local area and community in the safest possible way

Best wishes
The RCC team

 January 2nd 2021

We can confirm that Rutland has been moved into tier 3 - this means that as per Government & ECB tier 3 guidelines (Nov 23rd),  only 121 coaching may now take place at the centre, between 1 player and 1 coach. All players must reside in tier 3, and not travel to the centre from a tier 4 area.
The exception to this is for elite players (pathway and county squads).

Rutland Cricket Centre would like to update all cricketers and the public on the latest advice we will be using for the future weeks following the second COVID-19 lockdown in the UK.

The RCC would like to thank you all for your patience and support during these continued uncertain times. Now that the government has given us all an update on the current crisis and how the guidelines may differ in the upcoming weeks, RCC would like to update you all on how this will work for us all, including social interaction and cricketing opportunities.

As of the November 23rd, 2020 following the confirmation by the Prime Minister that England will return to a three-tier system of regional restrictions once the current lockdown period ends at 00:01 on 2 December.
The ECB has issued the below guidelines of allowance of  recreational cricket within each Tier.

On Thursday 26 November, the Government published the full list of local restrictions by area in England. You can find out which area applies to you here.
As a naturally socially distanced sport, ECB does not consider that playing cricket contributes to the spread of COVID-19 in any significant way, and it continues to play a key role in helping to safely maintain the health and wellbeing of the nation under coronavirus restrictions.

As of December 3rd, RCC still have many options available, including a 121 coaching indoors (Tier 2), (see image below for more details).  For our U18s  customers, Winter Camps are live on our website and ready for you to book onto for December and January 2021. As well as Household Lane Hire for 1 family or group of 3 if you are in Tier 2 (see image below for more details). .
We thank you all for your continued support for our small local business, stay safe and take care of yourselves.

Best Wishes,

RCC Team

RCC - COVID-19 Update Statement - as of 16th November 2020

RCC would like to update all cricketers and clubs on the latest advice we will be using for the future weeks following the COVID-19 outbreak in the UK.

Now that the government has given us all an update on the current crisis and how the guidelines may differ in the upcoming weeks, RCC would like to update you all on how this will work for us all, including social interaction and cricketing opportunities.

The ECB is now able to share the guidelines for cricket indoors for clubs in England and Wales.
The purpose of these guidelines is to offer practical guidance to venues, coaching providers and clubs on the steps they should take while undertaking cricket indoors. They should be read in conjunction with latest UK and Welsh Government regulations.
These guidelines could change in response to the current COVID-19 Alert Level or other Government advice.
